We usually come here on Wednesdays because they have awesome deals in sushi and beer. This place is tucked below and is a bit divey, but their food is good. I've only been here for the sushi but I hear good things about their burgers. I usually order the single rolls (spicey tuna, salmon, and scallop) which are all simple but great. And of course a Don Juan roll that is all deep fried (which I don't usually order but when the price is right, then yes please). Their schooners are also discounted so I love me some PBR here. It just tastes better on tap.

This basement bar was the perfect place to escape the heat and recharge. Friendly, helpful George took our orders and answered questions. Our table had the cheeseburger, rainbow roll, miso, and Edamame. The cheeseburger was perfect and my very discerning wife was pleased with the roll. Washed it down with generous schooners of beer. Highly recommended!

This place is a little dive bar place, they have really good deals on food and drinks Wednesdays, and last time we came here on a Wednesday it was super packed. I like this place for a late night sushi fix. Their kitchen is open till 11pm. I would also highly recommend their shrimp boat appetizers!

I came here in the middle of the day and it was pretty empty which I sort of liked. It's in the basement and I was just walking past and my girlfriend said she was getting "hangry" a mixture of angry and hungry. We were literally walking by this place as she said that so I just said to lets go here. We walked in, got to rolls which were fine I suppose. Got some drinks, and the service was pretty good. I like the location and the atmosphere. No complaints really. The sushi just wasn't quite 5 star caliber is all. Other than that this place is awesome and I imagine decently hopping on the weekends, or maybe not. I have no clue. Time for bed.

This little dive bar is in a basement right across the street from City Creek, so it's a great pit stop if you need a little booze in between store visits. I love their schooners. They are inexpensive and there's a decent selection of beers on tap. Since the other half of this place is Ahh Sushi, they've also got some Japanese beers and sake if you're feeling adventurous enough for some sake bombs. If you want something to nibble on, there are peanuts everywhere, so go crazy. Peanuts not cutting it? Get some sushi. Quality may not be up to par with places like Takashi and Naked Fish, but I think it's still good.

I am a regular and have been for the last 5 years! Sushi just doesn't taste the same anywhere else!!! My favorite sushi chef is Ferdz! Let him know what you love & he'll whip up something that'll have u coming back! He is the reason why I come back but the whole staff is amazingly friendly! I can always count on a fun lunch/dinner! #ferdzrocks

Great deals on tuesday and wednesday, best burger for the price!!! $3.50 schooners and $3.50 burgers can't beat that!!

Eh. I've had some good experiences here but they were seriously in the weeds this time. Waited 30 minutes to get drinks and gave up on getting some food. I'll probably skip going here next time I'm in town for Outdoor Retailer.

I totally dug the atmosphere here. It's sort of 'Dive Bar' meets 'Underground Sushi Bar'. The place is downstairs (Below ground level), and has sort of a grungy feel to it. It was clean, however, and had a very hip atmosphere. Muscle shooters were pretty good. Sushi was above average, but not great. Wait staff was initially not the warmest of folks, but lightened up as time went by. 1/2 price rolls at lunch made it all worth while.

Cool dive bar with sushi!! Sushi was decent, they do have corona light on tap which I've never seen before!

Fun atmosphere and a great place to grab a beer. No frills here but the prices aren't bad. They were out of most ingredients to make a decent cocktail and pretty much stick to the basics. They don't take American Express either, which is a little ridiculous in my opinion.

  • Jeff O.

Bad service and overpriced food for the quality and quantity. The bartender was more interested in flirting with the girls on the other side of the bar than to actually take our drink orders or even remember to bring us water. Even dive bars around town offer better service. This is a last resort.

Sushi is Ok quality but not great. There are better sushi places in SLC. My impression was completely spoiled by cockroach casually traveling on a wall next to our table. Not going back there again. They need a visit from pest control.

My housemates and I have become regulars here on Wednesday nights because they have awesome deals! Tuesday and Wednesday's the bar has a couple choices of beers that are $3.50 for 32oz.! They also have amazing pub burgers, 1/4lb for $3 and 1/2lb for $5. O'shucks is connected to Ahhh Sushi and they also have deals for sushi on Wednesdays. The Irish pub/japanese ambiance is an unique combination, but it works! The staff is also really cool and nice to talk to even though they are always super busy.

Decent sushi kinda hidden downtown, right next to city creek. The sushi was alright, nothing to write home about but not a bad choice either. Service was HORRIBLY slow. We went during a slow lunch hour with like a couple people there and they took forever. I was shocked. Waitress was nice enough I guess but overall I'd say meh. Only saving grace was that it was half off. I think until 2 pm? But don't quote me on that. I do want to try the bar side though.

In a nutshell, never a dull moment at Oshucks. I always enjoy coming to this dive and recommend it to all my friends. Schooners and Wednesday nights are match made in beer heaven. At first I felt bad for leaving a mess of my peanut shells but it's the grittyness of the place-i love it. No cover is always bueno. Love that I can order sushi and its close to Trax. Now all we need is to change Trax running times so it can reflect to the schedules of thirsty salt lakers.

Bar was ok. Nothing special, but the folks were friendly. Food os typical greasy pub food, but the beer is cold. Sushi restaurant upstairs was poor quality, extremely slow service, and a rip off. They padded the bill, automatically added another 18% gratuity, then refused to honor a coupon that they'd sent my wife in the mail for her birthday (and we'd confirmed that we could use the coupon before ordering). That on top of extremely small servings, poor quality, and one hour to produce three rolls. Never again. There are much better sushi restaurants in Park City proper to choose from.

Aah Sushi is good depending on the person Making the Sushi. I only go here for the happy hour sushi. I was gonna give it 4 stars but the last time i went here there was a guy i have never seen before making sushi. We ordered 5 rolls all at once. We usually get the same 4 rolls along with a new one. He made the rolls like a complete amateur and put sweet sauce on the rolls which do not have such sauces. One roll was good another decent and the other 3 were just awful. We left 3 unfinished rolls after tasting one bite of each. It was a complete waste of an appetite and money. Usually Aah Sushi is pretty good. ONLY GO DURING HAPPY HOUR FOR SUSHI

This place is within walking distance to my work, they have a 1/2 off tapas happy hour, and they serve booze. What's not to love? I've only been here a few times and it was right after 5:00pm so it's always a little dead which means we get great service. I've had the veggie tempura which was alright, surprising since I usually love anything that's been deep fried. Loved the cheese stuffed peppers and totally snarfed the Irish roll (the closest I'll come to sushi from a bar that's basically a small dungeon). All downed with a couple of glasses of chardonnay. Odd combo, I know, but I dig it. Overall not an amazing spot but it's close, cheap and friendly.

I like O'Shucks. Throughout college this place was the Wednesday night go-to destination, what with their infamous $3 schooners. Thanks to the Utah legislature, these disappeared for a while (not sure if they're back or not), and for a while so did my patronage. Fortunately, a couple of my buddies worked at O'Shucks for a while and I ended up becoming a pseudo-regular once again. Drinks are pretty cheap, there's a Happy Hour for sushi from Ahh Sushi next door (which isn't great, but I've also never had anything really terrible), and normally it's not super crowded. Wednesday still can be a bit packed. Service can be slow, and once things start getting busy, it's standing room only and every man for himself. If you've got even a minor peanut allergy (I don't, but FYI), don't bother coming in at all. The floor is coated with peanut shells, as the tasty legumes are available in-shell at each table. Biggest problem? If you're not in the mood for sushi, or you're not a sushi fan, you'll have a hard time getting over the smell of fish that permeates the joint.

So this has become our regular Apres-symphony haunt. I know, a peanut-sports bar following being awash in high culture for 2-3 hours (our tickets are in the second row!). All of life is a contrast. Anyway, as others have mentioned, O'Shucks and Aah Sushi share an entrance, a center wall, and menus. But if you sit in the sushi side, you can't get peanuts at your table. Their feature is 1/2 off sushi early in the day and late at night. It's no Takashi, but we've slowly come to agree that their rolls, which would be too expensive at normal price, are a very good value at 1/2 off. Flavorful, interesting, and above-average quality. Their small plates really steal the show, though-- tempura fried shishito peppers bursting with spice and cream cheese, veggie spring rolls that taste like a Northern Georgia March afternoon (well, maybe crossed with a little New Mexico, as there are some nice smoky spicy flavors too), the list goes on. Very tasty and very affordable. And on top of it all, you can get a $3 burger and awesome fries, while your wife eats miso and spicy tuna! The burger is above average-- the patty is nothing super special, but the standard toppings and bun are fresh. They feature giant goblets of draft beer, mostly Moab brewing these days, for good prices, and the staff have always been friendly and attentive. So go early, or go late; go after the symphony or a show at the Capitol Theater, or just as part of your bar crawl when you need some nourishment to go with your libation. Expect solid, but not stellar, cuisine, in a friendly atmosphere, and that's what you'll get.

I really like O'shucks/Ahh Sushi. I could never tell which is which. I recommend coming here on Wednesday (5:00 pm) for the Half off sushi and $3 buck schooners (20 oz). I am not that adventurous when it comes to Sushi so I usually order the funky Charlie and California Rolls. They have a great selection of beers on tap and you can never go wrong with PBR. This place is low-key and I like the basement environment. On wednesday it's usually standing-room only - so if the tables are taken, make sure to sit at the bar. The bartenders and servers are very nice and attentive, even if it's busy. For those that do not like crowds. This place also offers half-off specials - Monday through Friday from 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

to me this place is a dive bar. it's underground and peanut shells everywhere which i like!! Bartenders are friendly and pour a mean schooner. sushi can be ordered but i go for the fried stuff just because i dont think its the freshest fish and the kitchen looks a little shady. great place for after work beverages.

Only there for the bar, but I hear the sushi is good. Anyway, they have some great drinks and the bartenders were pretty attentive and approachable. I'd go again!

Am I allowed to give a total dive 5-stars? I don't care, I'm doing it anyway! I love O'shucks! All three locations! I frequent downtown SLC the most, as I live in the Avenues, and it is always a fun time. Schooners of beer, schooners of peanuts, and you can throw the shells right on the floor... can't get away with that kind of behavior at home! The staff is awesome: Van, Dane, Baz, Eric are all badass without trying to be tooo badass. They serve your drinks with a smile and without any attitude. Anyone looking for a chill time should check shucks out... unless you have a nut allergy. Then I would highly suggest staying far away. Side note, this review is for the bar/drinks only. Aah Sushi is another story...

This is an Irish bar connected to a mediocre sushi restaurant, but the men at the door will give you a forceful talking-to with emphatic and gestures if you appear not to understand what the separation entails. Our wine (we were waiting for a table at the allegedly connected restaurant) was not cold, so we were brought it anyway with a pile of ice-cubes and a too-small canister, and left to make a big wet mess on the table by ourselves. The beer appeared to be on sale, so this was a mistake on our part. The half-priced special on the sushi was difficult to decipher, and the net result was that we paid mostly full prices while nonetheless enjoying the overcrowding and bad service that come from a major sushi special. This is truly an alienating experience.

My boyfriend and I went to O'Shuck's/Ahh Sushi because we wanted to go somewhere with good food where we could watch the Jazz game. We were seated on the bar side because there are no tvs on the sushi side. It took fifteen minutes for anyone to greet us (by that point, we had walked up front and taken menus for ourselves), but we figured, since we were on the bar side, it would take a little longer for someone to greet us. We had eaten there several times before and gotten decent service, but this was our first time sitting on the bar side. We ended up getting charged for six rolls of sushi instead of four, even though when the food came out, I commented on the large amount of sushi the server had brought, to which he only said, "Enjoy!" When our bill came, we were shocked: $100!! We could have eaten at Pago or a restaurant in Park City for that amount of money! Not a dive bar with not that great sushi...and the manager refused to comp anything, even when we complained. We will never be eating or drinking there again!

A place with peanut shucks, big ass beers, great sushi, and packed Wednesday's ($3 Beers and loads of college kids). This local below the street restaurant/bar has a flair of its own. The bartenders and wait staff even hangout here on their days off (go figure). If you're in town for the Outdoor Retailers convention you've already been here. Bruce and Deb have another Ahh Sushi on your way to Park City and the snow riders favorite watering hole O'Shucks in downtown PC. Half price sushi during happy hour and other specials will let you enjoy your favorite fish without burning a hole in your plastic card. Try the Pick and Roll or Funky Charlie. Stare at Bruce's old skis used for glass storage or put a reservation in for your own private tatami room. Not sure if William B. understands that if you ask questions before ordering drinks or sushi, the wait staff is pleasant and helpful. Yea, the Utah liquor laws come in to play here with a private membership needed as of this writing.

You people have no idea what the meaning of dive bar is. This place was cool, located in the basement along a busy downtown strip. We took shots of sake and annoyed the barkeep by threatening to steal his toothpick holder. He let us "borrow" necklaces he had hanging on the bar, one was a lighting up strobe light shamrock and the other was a shot glass. We also took shots of Rumpleminz and left promptly after. I didn't see any peanut shells on the floor.

This is a dive bar if there was ever a dive bar. The funny thing is that it is connected to a hipster type sushi hang out. Sushi is good. Wednesday nights they have a great special $3 Schooners (huge beers) and half price Traditional Sushi rolls. Highly recommended.
